Burton Cummings Concert Reviews
Burton Never Ceases to Amaze Us!
From his very first note to the last guitar chord of the night, we were on our feet. Standing ovations...after every song? Who does that? We've seen Burton and all his bands at least 40 times over the years. His voice is as strong as ever, hitting every note with perfect precision. The Carpet Frogs remain true to each and every song Burton sung, Guess Who hits (almost all of them!) his solo hits (Burton, please play Had to Be You for us...from Woman Love)!! An excellent rendition of Bobby Darin's Clementine, a Jim Morrison imitation that true Doors fans would appreciate. Only issue...not enough hours for Burton to play ALL of his songs. Yup, I would have stayed for days to listen. Massey Hall is an excellent venue for his voice, his keyboards, the band. Nick Sanopoli...get well soon! Burton...hurry back. We miss you already!
Energentic, outstanding, an changed up a number of songs - loved the fun stuff - Clementine/Hula Hula boys and Family Guy. The voice was better than ever, crowd was into it and Tom Wilson was an excellent opener.
Rock in the Park
Right from the very start, Burton's golden voice and the his smooth band grabbed the attention of the thousands at Hawrelak Park on Saturday evening. The crowd stood and did not relent as Burton and the boys pounded track after track much to the sheer delight of all. My Wife Lindsey and I were front and center for the entire for the entire performance. I have attended several performances by Burton and the his incredibly talent laden band. And with each, they seem better and better. Thanks again for a truly wonderful trip through time. Peace.

Rock the Park 2014
Mr. Burton Cummings once again wowed the fans and an audience of thousands at Harris Park, in London, Ontario. Harris Park, one of London's modest parks is pictured on the Thames River where ducks and Canada Geese are close by to be part of the musical opportunity. It was a beautiful day where the sun sequestered through the rain clouds that punctually dispersed one hour after the completion of the event. However, Mr. Burton Cummings was absolutely stunning as he first entered the front row center and approached the standing microphone, not distracted by anything, from weather to audience or musicians of supportive qualities. Bang on, he delivered a refined Rock and Roll concert, not to loud to deafened the ears so that the avid listener could hear dynamics, expression, continuity and creative organization visually and audio that only an experience and well-versed songwriter could do. Burton performed the harmonica with a slight Louis Armstrong impression and maintained projection of sound and muscular control in other ways. Burton also doubled on the guitar and his strumming and wrist action was relaxed and his fingerings of chords were stable. His band featured instrumental solos that were outstanding yet always keeping in mind the Burton was the leader of the band. Burton in his own right really was spotlighted when he became poetic, something he exploring recently and trying the show his outdoor audiences a more performance art aspect to his Rock and Roll roots, and to a number of people who loyally attend his concerts, his unique and personal identity goes unnoticed and is revered by the listener that this is a genius. As Mr. Burton Cummings continues to tour Canada and the US this year, London sets a standard of Excellence in establishing a heart-felt and monumental connection in Burton's career, how he has overcome the obsticles and challenges in his life to arrive to where he is now- an adventure and journey of a new world, how Rock and Roll is here to stay, and incorporating what has worked in the past and what is in store for the future to culminate the Mr. Burton Cummings that is cut from no other to be the Artist, Entertainer, and Canadian talent of celebrity status that our country and abroad can be proud of. Congratulations! Winnipeg misses you, come home.
Upclose and Alone:Avant Garde Chambre Music
Mr. Burton Cummings, one of Canada's most decorated musicians presented an evening showcasing his lyrics and notation from the very room where his music originated-his home. An intimate collection beginning from the 1970's, when his solo career was in it's infancy, yet a metaphysical Burton adapted from a Montreal awakening to one of Sony's California New Canadian Talent. Burton, who had grown explosively surrounded by a mentality of dry cow patties with The Guess Who had deeply felt the development of the band became abstractly instrumental and his lyrics and voice only became incidental rather than supportive or soloistic. His reaction was passionate and created a great deal of personal reflection and subsiquently from the intensity in Montreal outdoor concert must have influenced his timely decision to explore his solo career. In the next few years Mr. Burton Cummings established his own style and sound that sets the tone and returning back to the July 12, 2014 concert at Toronto's newest Concert Hall for Notably Remarkable Talent Classically Uncharted- a venue that features World-Class Artists who demonstrate community, cultural, traditional and modern principles of Performance that expand the mind creatively to initiate timeless learning potential in any mind of the listener. Burton Cummings, the man of the house this evening, now in his elegant 60's comes into his own to articulate on the piano as if he was performing a wind instrument. Question: How does he do it? Answer: Years and years of accummulated talent and experience streamlined in a New Year's Eve party balloon then held with so much control, squeezed at the base to create a steady, almost bold and full bodied, so intermittive "excuse me, but not really" "I'm right here" sound that has a response to the socialites of Canada and the world who noticed-It's a honour and delight getting to know you, you are my kind of guy and I'll see you in London, Ontario- meet some new friends and a appreciative audience that has managed backfire in automobiles for a number of years. I love you.
